(What is Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia?)
The Short Shorts Film Festival (SSFF) began in Harajuku and Omotesando in 1999, and introduced short films to Japanese audience for the first time. In the 13 years since, the
festival has attracted more than 250,000 people, and it became one of the biggest
festivals for short films in Asia.
We debuted as the “American Short Shorts Film Festival”, presenting mainly American films
for the first three years. After the fourth year, we renamed ourselves the “Short Shorts Film
Festival” incorporating the international film community and opening our doors to the rest of
the world.
